About the game

What you do in a play session

Sapotagem is a card game that blends two classic mechanics: set collection and trick-taking. At the start, each player gets a shuffled deck and a set of cards that determine the round’s trump. In each round, you can either play a card or pass. If you play, the goal is to win the trick by playing the highest card of the required color or, if available, the trump. The trick winner takes all the played cards (except the trump‑determining card) and arranges them in rows in their area, separated by the symbols they already hold. At the end, scoring is quirky: each symbol type earns positive points up to three pieces, turns negative between four and six, and becomes positive again with seven or eight. The “bomb” cards (13 in total) are always negative unless you capture all of them, turning them into a bonus. The game is quick—about 20 to 30 minutes—and ideal for 3 to 6 players who enjoy simple strategies with a dash of unpredictability. If you love cards, collecting, and a bit of luck, Sapotagem has it all in a compact, fun package.
