About the game
What you do in a play session
Get your survival kit ready, because Seers Catalog is here to test your ability to let go! If you enjoy that delicious tension of trying to ditch everything in your hand before chaos erupts, this game is about to become your new obsession. The theme centers on containing a werewolf threat, utilizing an 'almost-shedding' mechanic: your goal is to end up with as few cards as possible, but the danger lies in the fine print.
In every round, you aren't just another face in the crowd; you're equipped with a unique set of artifacts that grant asymmetric abilities to your character. This means your hand management strategy will shift constantly depending on which powers you're wielding at the moment. It's a tight blend of strategic hand control and ladder-climbing dynamics.
The scoring is where things get truly spicy. When a player finally manages to clear their hand (or close to it), the scoring kicks in. Every card left in your hand counts as -1 point, but here's the twist: if you're clever enough to finish with five or fewer cards, the value of your lowest card can actually turn into positive points! However, watch out: once you drop into that 'five cards or less' zone, you lose the ability to pass voluntarily. If you try to hold onto a high-value card hoping for a massive payout and the round ends prematurely, you could end up facing a total disaster. It's a game of risk, timing, and knowing exactly when to ditch the clutter to save the village!
