Ever noticed how the number 7 seems to be everywhere? Well, 7 is the absolute protagonist in Seven7s! If you love card games that don't take all afternoon but still make your brain work hard, you've found a gem. This game is a standout from the Eagle-Gryphon Games E•G•G series, offering surprising depth for a game that can be finished in under 10 minutes. The goal is simple yet tricky: you want to have the highest total value of cards in your hand when the game ends. How does that work? Let me explain! During the game, players collectively build a community tableau consisting of seven columns. Each column represents one of seven iconic themes: the 7 Ages of Man, 7 Colors of the Rainbow, 7 Deadly Sins, 7 Holy Virtues, 7 Lucky Gods, 7 Seas, and 7 Wonders of the World. On your turn, you play a card from your hand into the column that matches its theme. If no such column exists, you start a new one. Here's the twist: each card type has a unique ability that can shift the game's momentum. After playing, you activate the card's power and draw back up to three cards. The game ends when the seventh card of any column is played. But watch out: this final card is played sideways and counts toward the hand of the player who played it! It's a game of timing, where you must decide whether to play a card now to trigger a power or save it to secure points at the end. It's fast, dynamic, and perfect for a filler between heavy sessions.
