About the game

What you do in a play session

Light your pipe and grab your magnifying glass, because Sherlock Holmes: The Card Game throws you right into the Victorian streets of London! Inspired by the classic detective stories, this card game puts you in the shoes of Holmes and Watson, on the eternal hunt against notorious villains like Professor Moriarty and Colonel Sebastian Moran. The idea is simple: you'll use Movement, Location, Info, Action, Detective, and Villain cards to unravel the case. Imagine taking a train to the countryside, finding a crucial clue, and using a disguise to throw off your opponents. Or perhaps using an Inspector to hinder someone's move, or even an Alibi to get yourself out of a tight spot. The game heats up when an arrest is successfully made, revealing the villain, or when a player, in desperation, discards their last card and the scoundrel escapes. The final score depends on what's left in your hand, and if you were caught red-handed with a villain in your hand. It's a race against time and your opponents to prove who is the best detective. With illustrations reminiscent of the original novels, the game captures the atmosphere of pursuit and mystery well. Although the mechanics are straightforward, player interaction can be quite fun, especially with the attack and defense cards. It's a game that evokes the feeling of being immersed in an intriguing case, worthy of Sherlock Holmes himself.
