About the game

What you do in a play session

In 'Shipping Game,' you take charge of a global shipping company, competing to dominate the seas and profits! Over eight rounds, your goal is to expand your influence by establishing harbor offices in six strategic regions worldwide. But that's not all: you also need to build a fleet of ships with varying capacities to handle the job. The most exciting part? Competing for super lucrative cargo contracts at ports where your company already has a presence. Get ready for fierce auctions, where every bid counts! Winning a contract means committing one of your precious ships to transport the cargo. Keep an eye out: some deliveries are quick, while longer ones tie up your ships for several rounds but promise even greater rewards. Growth comes at a cost, of course. Ships and harbor offices incur operating expenses each round, so the secret is to balance expansion with managing your cash flow. In auctions, competition can drive prices up, forcing you to decide the true value of a shipment and when it's better to let a rival take it. Throughout the game, delivered containers are collected and contribute to final scoring, considering total shipments, cargo variety, and dominance in specific cargo types. Additionally, completed contracts, harbor offices, your remaining fleet, and cash on hand also earn points. After eight rounds, the shipping company with the most victory points is crowned the queen of the oceans!
