About the game

What you do in a play session

If you already enjoy the original Skyjo, get ready for an extra dose of chaos and strategy with Skyjo Action. The core premise remains the same: you have a 12-card grid in front of you and need to get rid of high values to have the lowest score when someone ends the round. The crucial difference here is that, beyond swapping cards and trying to form matching columns, you now have the power of Action Cards and Jokers to swing the game in your favor.

In Skyjo Action, luck still plays a part, but the decisions get much spicier. Jokers are true wildcards that make completing sets easier, offering generous negative points that can save your game. Meanwhile, Action Cards allow you to do things that were previously impossible: swap cards between players, steal an action, take two turns in a row, or manipulate your own tableau creatively. There is also a new rule that fans love: now, in addition to columns, you can also discard entire rows of identical cards, which speeds up the pace and opens up new tactical possibilities.

The game flows quickly, is easy to teach to anyone, and maintains that 'just one more round' vibe we all love. It is perfect for those who enjoy light games that still require a bit of attention to what your opponents are doing. Supporting up to 8 players, it becomes a party, especially when someone uses an Action Card just as you were about to finish your grid. The balance between the risk of keeping a high card waiting for a set and the safety of discarding it immediately is what makes the experience addictive. If you want a filler that mixes memory, luck, and a dash of 'take that' among friends, Skyjo Action is a must-have for your collection.
