About the game
What you do in a play session
Switchback is a drawless connection game for two players (Black and White) that'll test your ability to think ahead and craft clever chains. The board starts empty, with each player trying to connect opposite edges with their stones — Black links top and bottom, White links left and right. Gameplay is simple: place one stone per turn, but watch out for 'crosscuts' (2x2 areas with stones on diagonals). If you create one, you can move your opponent's stones to adjacent spots, flipping the game on its head! Win by forming an unbroken path between your edges. Pro tip: use the 'pie rule' (balancing mechanic) to keep things fair from the start. Expect dramatic reversals and 'aha!' moments as you block opponents and carve paths to victory.
