About the game
What you do in a play session
In "That's Pretty Clever! Kids" a birthday party becomes a scramble for balloons, gifts, candles and sweets. Each round starts with one player rolling five colored dice; the faces show icons or a joker. The player picks all dice of a single background color, grabs any jokers, and uses the symbols to mark items on their score sheet: yellow balloons in a left‑to‑right sequence, orange candles like a train that requires the exact number, green gifts in any order, and blue sweets in matching pairs. Any dice that can’t be used are returned to the pool for the other players. Each opponent then chooses a color (they may pick the same or a different one) and marks what they can. Marking a circled item or a row of gifts next to a circle grants an immediate bonus, allowing you to cross off another item of that color. When a player completes an entire area, the game ends at the end of that turn, and the player with the most rainbow stars wins. The game is quick (about 15 minutes), easy to learn, and works for 2‑4 kids, though adults who enjoy light resource‑management challenges will also have fun. Components are minimal: five dice with icons and colored score sheets, plus paper and pencil. The dice‑draft combined with roll‑and‑write creates a gentle planning experience without overwhelming younger players. Ideal for parties, family gatherings, or a relaxed afternoon where the fun lies in grabbing more items before the cake is cut.
