About the game
September 1939: the German Admiral Graf Spee is ordered to sink British merchant ships in the South Atlantic, cutting off supply lines to the UK. Meanwhile, the British Royal Navy dispatches three cruisers to hunt down the feared German warship. In The Hunt, you experience this historic duel in an asymmetric two-player game. One commands the Kriegsmarine, trying to remain hidden while sinking five ships; the other controls the British fleet, attempting to track and engage the Graf Spee in a final showdown. With hidden movement, bluffing and deduction mechanics, each game is an exciting naval chase. The game uses a hexagonal board and action/event cards that recreate the tactical challenges of the era. Will British numerical superiority prevail, or will German refined strategy win out? Prepare for a tense, strategic experience recreating one of the most dramatic episodes of the Battle of the River Plate.

Frequently Asked Questions
How long does a game take?
Between 20 to 45 minutes, depending on player experience and how many ships the Graf Spee can sink before being detected.
Is it hard to learn?
Medium weight (2.26/5 on BGG). Wargame veterans will pick it up quickly, but beginners might need 1-2 games to get comfortable with the mechanics.
Are expansions needed?
No, the base game is complete. Being a very thematic and specific game, expansions are unlikely.
Worth it for non-wargamers?
If you enjoy deduction and bluffing games, maybe. But the military theme is very present - this isn't a 'light wargame'.
What's the difference between sides?
The German player focuses on hidden movement and stealth attacks, while the British uses numerical superiority and systematic search patterns.
Is there a Portuguese version?
Currently only in English and German, but rules become simple after first play and there's minimal in-game text.
