A dark rumor rises from Mordor and the fate of Middle-earth is in your hands. Each game you pick a side: lead the Fellowship of the Ring to defend the free peoples and destroy the One Ring, or play as Sauron, hunting Frodo and Sam while sending your armies to the gates of enemy cities. The game unfolds over three chapters with a similar structure — each round you draw from a row of face-up and face-down cards, choosing to play them (paying the cost) or discard them for coins. You can also grab Landmark tiles, pay the price, and place a Fortress on the matching region of the modular board. Every chapter builds tension as the Ring Quest progresses, races are rallied to your cause, and your presence across regions grows. There are three ways to win: complete the Quest (Ring destroyed or seized), collect six different race symbols on your green cards, or be present in all seven regions. If nobody hits a victory condition, the player controlling the most regions at the end of chapter three wins. Ties are shared. Light weight and short rounds make for a tense, choice-filled duel — Sauron demands tighter resource management, while the Fellowship gets a boost from the Quest momentum. Great for fans of two-player fantasy strategy with a strong Tolkien flavor.

Do I need to know The Lord of the Rings to play?
Not necessarily. The game explains basic concepts, but readers or movie fans will pick things up faster and enjoy the lore details more.
Are the two sides (Fellowship and Sauron) balanced?
Yes, each side has its own style. The Fellowship races against the Quest clock; Sauron needs tighter resource management. Both have clear paths to victory.
Is it only for two players?
Yes, it's strictly a two-player game. It's a direct duel with no larger multiplayer mode.
What's the complexity level?
Weight 2.1 — light. Rules are simple, but each round's decisions carry weight. You can teach it in about five minutes.
Does it have a board or is it card-only?
It has a modular board with regions and Fortress pieces. It's not just cards — the board is a key part of the area-control strategy.
