Harry Potter: Honeydukes is a 2‑to‑5‑player card game set in the beloved sweet shop of Hogsmeade. Each game is played in a series of rounds, and on a player’s turn they may either buy sweets or eat the ones they already hold. Buying involves turning over the top two cards of the deck and choosing to take one or both; the other card, if not taken, is placed in the Reserve Area. If there are already cards in the Reserve that match the ones you just drew, you must also take those from the Reserve. Eating simply means stacking the corresponding cards face‑down in your “Eaten” pile; those cards are then out of play for the rest of the game. The goal is to accumulate the most sweets eaten. When you already have a pair of any type of sweet, you become a “Sweet Tooth” and must discard all cards that are still uneaten from your hand. The game blends Push Your Luck, where players risk buying cards that could be good or bad, with Set Collection, as you need to gather matching pairs to maximize points, and Take That, since the Reserve can be used to block opponents from completing their sets. The components are minimal: a 60‑card sweets deck, a Reserve zone, and tokens to track eaten sweets. The theme is pure Harry Potter, with colorful artwork of each treat—Exploding Chocolate Bars, Chocolate Frogs, and Multicolored Beans, for instance. The mechanics are easy to learn, but the decision of when to buy versus when to eat creates tension. It’s perfect for fans who enjoy quick, competitive play and who love the series’ whimsical world. Additionally, it’s great for those who like to test luck and strategy in just a few minutes.
