The Split

After pulling off the heist of the century, you and your crew face a mountain of jewels, gold, paintings, and other loot. The boss proposes one final challenge before everyone parts ways: a card game called The Split. The game is a Blackjack‑inspired showdown with a heavy dose of bluffing and betting. Each round starts with one player acting as dealer, dealing numeric cards to everyone. The goal is to total as close to 21 as possible without going bust. Players can play single‑use Bonus cards that tweak their hand – adding, subtracting, or otherwise shifting the total. Once all hands are set, the highest score (or tied scores) gets first pick from the loot stacks on the table; there’s always one fewer stack than players, so no one is guaranteed a prize. Each stack contains different items – gold, gems, artwork – each scoring in its own way. New loot stacks are added as the Loot Deck depletes, keeping tension high until the end. The game ends when the Loot Deck runs out; the player with the highest cumulative loot value wins. Variants with Disguise cards make it impossible to win without an escape plan, and difficulty modes adjust the number of bonuses and betting aggressiveness. The Split offers simple rules, quick 20‑30 minute rounds, and plenty of social interaction, making it ideal for 2‑6 players who love bluffing, taking risks, and walking away with the biggest haul.
