About the game
What you do in a play session
Get ready to feel the track's adrenaline with Thunder Rolls! This stock car racing game puts you in the driver's seat, blending dice rolling with a dash of auction and programmed movement strategy. Each game unfolds in two phases: the Rolling Phase, where you roll your dice and assign them to actions to gain track advantages and special Thunder cards; and the Thunder Phase, where you plan your drivers' movements and unique actions using these cards. The goal is to cross the finish line first, of course, but the path there is paved with tactical decisions. The tiered dice placement system, designed by a stock car enthusiast, brings the thrill of close-contact racing and wheel-to-wheel action to your table in a way that's easy to learn yet strategically deep. You can play a quick race on a short track (around 20 minutes!) or tackle longer circuits like the Tri-Oval or Superspeedway (30-60 minutes), each with its own set of challenges. And don't worry about player count, because Thunder Rolls always fills the grid with 8 competing cars, using Non-Player Driver (NPD) cards with their own distinct styles, making every race unpredictable and challenging. With plenty of unique Race cards and the need to adapt to the actions of others and the NPDs, excitement is guaranteed with every 'Thunder Roll!' It's an experience that captures the essence of racing, perfect for those who enjoy a dynamic and action-packed game.
