About the game
What you do in a play session
Time's Up! Family brings the classic fun of charades to large groups, adding a dash of memory strategy and communication limits. The game starts with each player picking cards that feature famous objects, characters, or animals. All cards are shuffled into a single deck that will be used across three rounds. In round one, anything goes: the clue‑giver may speak, gesture, make sounds, and cannot skip a card. The goal is for the team to guess as many words as possible within 30 seconds. Round two tightens the rules – only one word per clue is allowed, but gestures and sounds remain free. The clue‑giver can now discard cards they find tricky, and each team gets only one guess per card. The final round goes silent: no words, only gestures and sounds, and the clue‑giver may pass as often as desired. Teams still have a single guess per card. Smart physical clues in the first round pay off later when mouths are shut and the timer is ticking. The game includes two 30‑second sand timers, a deck of roughly 200 cards, and a scoring pad. Playtime is about 30 minutes, rules are easy to grasp, and it works for 4–12 players, ideally split into two teams of two or more. Its light rules make it family‑friendly, while the need to remember previously given clues adds a memory element that boosts replay value. If you love lively parties, enjoy miming, and don’t mind recalling what’s already been said, Time's Up! Family is a solid pick to spark the fun.
