About the game

What you do in a play session

In Town 66 each player controls a hand of unique tiles representing six house styles in six colors or patterns – a total of 36 distinct combinations. The goal is to place as many houses as possible on an invisible 6×6 grid, but there’s a strict rule: no row or column may contain two houses of the same style or color. The first player drops a tile in the upper‑left corner to start, and each subsequent turn adds a tile adjacent to an existing one while respecting the color/style restriction. After playing, the player may draw a new tile or keep the current hand, a decision that can either extend their options or leave them stranded without a legal move. The game works solo – where the challenge is to fill the board before you run out of moves – as well as with 1‑4 players, with a quick 15‑minute playtime. It blends hand management, pattern building, and tile placement on a square grid, delivering an abstract puzzle that tests planning and foresight. Because the back of each tile shows its color, you can anticipate which pieces remain useful, yet you must balance that knowledge against the risk of being unable to place anything. The minimalist design, just 36 tiles and an imaginary board, makes it easy to learn but hard to master, ideal for fans of fast, replayable logic challenges.
