About the game
In Traintopia, you step into the shoes of a visionary tasked with turning a nation of flawless transport into a futuristic train paradise. Each game starts with a pool of components – track tiles, commuters, tourists, mailbags and trains – all visible for everyone to draft. On your turn you perform an open draft: you pick the piece that best fits your plan and snap it onto your network. Tiles extend routes, linking districts that appeal to different passenger types. Placing a commuter or tourist scores victory points right away, while mailbags and trains sit aside to grant end‑game bonuses. The board builds up layer by layer, and you must balance cargo lines, passenger lines and tourist attractions to maximise scoring. After eight or nine rounds (player count dependent), the game ends; players tally points from completed routes and receive extra points from personal goal cards. Mechanics like tile placement, open drafting, end‑game bonuses and progressive turn order keep the pace brisk and the replay value high, while variable set‑up ensures no two games feel the same. Perfect for fans of light Euro‑style games, train themes, and strategic network building without the heaviness.
