About the game

What you do in a play session

Get ready for a trip back in time to the ancient Mediterranean in Tyros! In this game, you and your friends will take control of expanding empires, vying for dominance in a region stretching from Lebanon to the Pillars of Hercules. The board, divided into rectangles, serves as the stage for this strategic battle. Each player starts with ships and cities, and expansion occurs when you play tiles representing new locations, connecting them to areas already under your control. Your empire's color spreads, and its size varies each game, thanks to the ever-changing initial setup. To secure your empire, you'll need galleys to control territories and found new cities, but beware: all of this costs cards! These cards, which you receive and can even trade with other players, are essential for travel and building. In the end, glory goes to the player with the most points, calculated based on controlled areas, founded cities, and the size of your empire. Tyros blends area control, hand management, and card trading in a way that makes you think about every move. It's a game that demands planning and interaction, ideal for those who enjoy strategic competition with a historical and maritime flair.
