About the game

What you do in a play session

In Unicornus Knights, you and your friends are loyal generals on a desperate mission: protecting a stubborn princess who insists on marching back to her castle, even with an enemy army in the way. The game is pure cooperation—or is it pure desperation? The modular board means each playthrough is a new battlefield, with enemy generals popping up in different spots. When you encounter one, 'fate' cards reveal unexpected connections (that dark past of yours? A forbidden love?), adding narrative layers and tactical twists to the struggle. With grid movement, dramatic dice rolls, and asymmetric abilities, every decision counts. And the princess? She charges ahead, come hell or high water. You gonna let a lady like that get into trouble alone?

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers before you buy

6 questions
Best player count?
3-5 is ideal. 2 feels too hard, and 6 might overstay its welcome.
How complex is it really?
BGG weight 3.3 — not too simple or heavy, but demands group coordination.
Is translation really needed?
Afraid so. Fate cards have narrative text crucial for decisions.
Does it play solo?
Not officially, but you can control multiple generals if you're up for the challenge.
How strong is the anime theme?
Very anime/manga aesthetic, but gameplay focuses more on tactics than fanservice.
Any expansions or extra content?
Nothing official, but the community cooks up homebrew scenarios for more variety.
