About the game
Imagine the classic 'dungeon crawl' scenario, but with a twist: what if you weren't just the hero? In Vast: The Crystal Caverns, asymmetry is the heart of the game. Forget the trope of a merry band of adventurers cooperating to defeat evil. Here, each player takes on a completely different role, with goals, pieces, and victory conditions that share almost nothing in common.

You can play as the Knight, determined to navigate the caverns and slay the beast; the Goblin horde, aiming to sow chaos and stop anyone from reaching the treasure; the Dragon, colossal and greedy, guarding its gold at all costs; or — the craziest part — you can be the Cave itself! Yes, you control the environment, shifting rooms and setting traps to crush any living thing that dares to disturb your depths.

The experience is dynamic because the board is modular and interaction is constant. While the Knight tries to decipher the path, the Cave shifts the rooms and the Goblins set ambushes. It's a game of cat and mouse where tension escalates as the Knight edges closer to the Dragon.

The game is extremely versatile in its player count. Want something fast? Play as the Knight against the Goblins. Want something epic and complex? Bring everyone to the table. Since each combination of roles completely changes the dynamic, the replayability is massive. It's the kind of game where you finish one session and immediately want to try another role to figure out new ways to sabotage your friends. If you love games where the strategy shifts entirely depending on your identity, Vast is the perfect choice.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is the game hard to learn?
The core concept is simple, but since each player has completely different rules, it takes a bit of time for everyone to master their specific role.
Can it be played with few people?
Yes! You can play in duels (Knight vs Goblins) or with a full group for the most epic experience.
How long does a game last?
It varies. Quick games take about 75 min, but with all characters, it can reach up to 150 min.
Is it a cooperative game?
Not at all! It's purely competitive. There is only one winner, and everyone else is trying to stop them.
Who do you recommend this game for?
For those who enjoy strategy, fantasy, and especially those who love 'trolling' their friends with traps and ambushes.
