About the game
What you do in a play session
Get ready to embark on an intergalactic adventure with Very Big Monster, a cooperative game that casts you as explorers venturing into uncharted worlds. Your mission, on behalf of the Federation, is to discover exotic creatures, collect rare crystals, and accumulate glory through challenging missions. The heart of the game is the 'Smart Draft' system, where each player builds their own exploration area. Everyone simultaneously chooses a card from their hand, adds it to their landscape, and, crucially, decides which teammate (or rival, in competitive mode) will receive their remaining cards. Every choice is a dilemma: you can strengthen a partner, tempt an opponent, or turn the game on its head!

Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers before you buy
What's the main difference between cooperative and competitive modes?
In cooperative mode, you and your partner share a final score (that of the lowest-scoring explorer), encouraging mutual help. In competitive mode, everyone plays for themselves to achieve the highest individual score.
Is the game too complex for board game beginners?
Very Big Monster has an accessible learning curve, but the drafting system and the need for strategic communication might require a few plays to master. It's perfect for those looking for a light challenge!
How long does a game of Very Big Monster last?
Games are quite fast, usually between 25 and 25 minutes, making it ideal for short sessions or playing multiple times in a row.
How many players can participate?
The game is designed for 2 to 6 players, working very well in different group configurations, especially in 2-player teams in cooperative mode.
Are the components of good quality?
Yes, the game focuses on smart and modular card design, with components that facilitate setup and offer varied objectives in each game.
What makes the 'Smart Draft' so special?
It transforms traditional drafting into a collaborative challenge. You not only choose cards for yourself but also decide which cards to pass to others, directly impacting your team's strategy and that of your opponents.
