About the game

What you do in a play session

Villagers of the Oak Dell is a fast‑paced Euro‑style roll‑and‑write where each match tells the story of founding and expanding a village. Over eleven rounds, players lay down roads, houses, mines and other buildings, recruit villagers and, if they wish, guards to fend off marauders. Each round starts with one player rolling four special dice; any swords rolled trigger a marauder attack that all players mark, and if they haven’t hired guards by game end they incur negative points. After the roll, every player picks one of the dice—any number of players can take the same die—and uses the two resources shown (one from the outer ring, one from the inner symbol) on their personal village sheet. Throughout the game, buildings, mines and special workers grant extra resources, and every three rounds (a season) certain structures fire special actions, adding strategic depth. Scoring comes from built structures, stored resources and recruited guards. The game also offers a scenario‑based campaign and a two‑player duel mode. As a Print & Play title, you only need printed sheets and dice, though a translated sheet is recommended. Perfect for fans of quick decisions, resource management and the occasional surprise marauder attack.
