Imagine the scene: total chaos in a laboratory where experimental viruses have escaped and are now spreading everywhere. The only solution? You and your fellow scientists must rush to contain the pandemic. But wait, science is highly competitive here! In Virus!, the goal is simple, but the execution is pure adrenaline: you must be the first to assemble a body with four healthy organs.
The dynamics are fast and straightforward. On each turn, you either play a card or discard whatever you want to replenish your hand. You'll try to play your organs, but that's where the fun (or the frustration) begins. Your opponents will try to infect your organs with viruses of the same color to stall your progress. To defend yourself, you use pills to cure the infections. If you want to ensure no one bothers you, you can place two pills on the same organ, making it completely immune.
The game is a true 'take-that' card battle. In addition to organs, viruses, and medicine, there are special action cards that can completely flip the game, stealing a neighbor's luck or cleaning up the mess in your own body. It's the kind of game where friendships are tested, as ethics are cast aside when victory is on the line. You'll need cunning to sabotage your rivals' plans while keeping your own immune system in check.
With super simple rules and matches that last about 20 minutes, Virus! is ideal for those who want something light but with that pinch of conflict that keeps the table lively. There is no complex reading required, making the entry for new players instantaneous. Prepare your medications, plan your attacks, and try to prevent your organs from becoming a feast for the viruses!
