About the game
What you do in a play session
A spacecraft crashes into Blackwood Grove, creating an almost impenetrable force field around the wreckage. The only witness is the Kid, while federal agents track the signal but can’t get near the ship. Hidden among the debris, the Visitor – an injured alien – hopes the Kid can crack the secret rule governing the force field before the agents do. The game is asymmetric: one player takes on the Visitor and secretly creates a rule like “objects that contain metal” to decide which cards pass or are repelled. The other players, split between Agents and the Kid, watch what happens when cards are tested. Agents play cards in secret to learn the pattern, while the Kid tries to predict outcomes and, if correct, earns the Visitor’s trust. Balance is key – if the rule is too easy, the Agents solve it first and the Visitor loses; if it’s too hard, nobody solves it and the Agents win. When the rule is just right, the Kid figures it out before the Agents and the Kid‑Visitor duo escapes. In just 5‑15 minutes the game delivers tense deduction, pattern recognition, and a dash of push‑your‑luck when choosing which cards to test. Perfect for 3‑6 players, with a light weight (1.4/5) and easy‑to‑learn rules, though it does demand a solid grasp of the language to catch all the clues. It has earned awards like the Audience Choice at BostonFIG Fest 2017 and an official selection at IndieCade 2017, showing that the cooperative‑against‑asymmetric experience delights both puzzle lovers and sci‑fi fans.
