About the game
What you do in a play session
Get ready for a fierce competition for the royal throne in "Vive le Roi!" (or "King Me!" as some know it). With the king's imminent retirement, the nobility and castle folk are in a frenzy, each with their favorites to take the post. Your mission? Strategically position your candidates and use plenty of cunning and bluffing to ensure your chosen one reaches the top, literally. The game is a delightful mix of deduction and betting, where you hide your true intentions. Each player receives a secret card listing the characters they support and must move them up through the castle floors. The higher the floor, the more points it's worth, with the top being the most coveted spot. But beware: to place someone on the highest floor, everyone must vote 'yes'. And that's where the game heats up! You have unlimited 'yes' cards, but 'no' cards are scarce. A single 'no' vote can ruin a candidate's ascent, removing them from the round. The art of bluffing and deducing who holds which 'no' cards is crucial. Rounds end when everyone agrees (or runs out of options) to crown a new king, and scoring takes place. After a few rounds, the player with the most points wins the crown! It's a quick game, with 30-minute playtimes, perfect for up to 8 players, ideal for those who enjoy a good dose of social interaction and light strategy.
