Vom Kap bis Kairo

In Vom Kap bis Kairo, players embark on an epic railway race across Africa, aiming to be the first to connect Cape to Cairo. The journey is full of challenges, with various terrain types requiring different amounts of track to traverse. Each participant starts with 100 pounds, which are crucial for strategic bidding on terrain cards and, if necessary, acquiring additional tracks to overcome the obstacles of the African landscape.

Each round, a number of terrain cards equal to the total number of players are auctioned off. These cards are then placed in front of each player's train, indicating the next segment to be conquered. Terrain cards vary in the number of tracks they provide (from 0 to 3) and the requirement to cross them (from 6 to 10 tracks, depending on the terrain type). Players, in turn order, reveal additional terrain cards and must decide whether to advance construction or pass their turn.

When a terrain is finally crossed, the corresponding card is flipped face down, and the player receives back a certain amount of pounds, as indicated on the card. The construction phase continues until a player no longer has terrain cards in front of their train, signaling the start of a new terrain card auction. Victory is awarded to the first player who manages to complete the crossing of eight terrain segments, thus connecting Cape to Cairo. It's an exciting race where resource management and bidding strategy are fundamental to success.
