Hey everyone! Ready to roll up your sleeves and build a world-class nation? In 20th Century, you take the reins of a country's development at the dawn of the 20th century. The twist is that each nation grows its own way: some become financial powerhouses, others hubs of learning. Science and commerce are the engines propelling us into the future, but what kind of future will it be? Because, you know, every advancement brings waste and pollution, and the environmental cost can be sky-high.
Our challenge is to create a country that not only thrives economically but also sets an example of sustainability, free from garbage and with a healthy environment. Only then can we truly say the country is developed! The game unfolds over six rounds, and in each one, we'll be urbanizing our territory. Some areas will generate income, others will boost scientific research, and still others will improve the quality of life for our citizens.
Research is the key to unlocking new technologies that will shape the nation's development and, perhaps, even help us avert ecological disasters. At the end of each round, we reap the rewards (money and research) to face the challenges of the next. Points are accumulated each round, focusing on quality of life. There are extra bonus points in rounds two and four, and at the very end, the total score considers income, research, and the state of our personal planet. Whoever has the most developed country with the highest quality of life wins the game! It's a game that blends economic strategy with a touch of environmental awareness, all wrapped up with auction and memory mechanics to keep you thinking.
