Afternova

Hey folks! Ready for a wild space race? In Afternova, a brand-new solar system got obliterated by a supernova, and now it's your chance to dive in and grab valuable resources from its unstable planets. But these jobs are too dangerous to tackle alone, so you'll need to send in your teams of 'Hired Paws' and, get this, form some uneasy truces with your rivals to secure the best loot.

Afternova is a strategic negotiation game for 3 to 6 players that will keep you on your toes. The goal is to score victory points by collecting fragments shown on your blueprints to build ship upgrades. Once a player completes 6 blueprints, the game ends, and the player with the most victory points wins.

On your turn, you have a choice: either take 3 cards from the market or attempt to extract fragments from a planet. When performing a Market action, you can grab any combination of Blueprint and Hired Paw cards. Blueprints are essential for scoring points, but they also grant special abilities. Hired Paws come with different skill sets, so you'll need a variety of them to perform extractions or even help other players extract.

The core of the game, and arguably the most exciting part, is the negotiation during an Extract action. Often, you won't have all the Hired Paws needed to meet a planet's requirements. This is where the magic happens: you'll likely need to team up with other players, splitting the work and, of course, the rewards. It's a fast-paced game with interesting decisions and plenty of player interaction. Ready to blast off?
