About the game

What you do in a play session

Get your gardening gloves on and sharpen your negotiation skills, because Bohnanza: Dahlias is here to add a floral twist to the classic planting and harvesting game! In this special edition, you're still in charge of a flower field, where the goal is to plant, harvest, and of course, trade your flowery beauties to rack up as many coins as possible.

The core gameplay remains the same: you receive random flower cards, and unlike in most games, their order in your hand is sacred! No shuffling allowed. You must plant the first one or two cards from your hand into your fields. Each field only accepts one type of flower, so if things get tight and you need to plant something new, you might have to harvest what's already growing to make space. And believe me, harvesting early is usually not the best deal!

After planting, the magic of negotiation happens. You reveal two cards from the deck, and then, my friend, it's time to work your charm! You can trade these cards, the ones in your hand, or even make wild promises to get what you need. Remember: all trades in a turn involve you, the active player. After everything is settled, you draw new cards, which go to the back of your hand, ready for the next cycle. Harvesting yields coins based on the field size and the flower's 'meter.' When the deck runs out, just shuffle the discards and continue the game for two more rounds. In the end, whoever has the most coins wins the bouquet of victory!
