About the game

What you do in a play session

Alhambra: Big Box (Second Edition) gathers every highlight of the line, featuring brand‑new artwork and bundling all six original expansions plus the two "queenies" for a total of 26 playable modules. The core goal remains to build your own Alhambra palace by buying buildings that appear four at a time in the building market, each priced in a different currency. On your turn you may take money from the open market, purchase a building and either place it immediately or reserve it, or rearrange already‑placed structures to improve your layout. Paying the exact price grants an extra turn, making the game fast‑paced and rewarding efficient play. At the end, players score for having the most buildings of each of the six types and receive bonuses for the longest external wall of their complex. The game ends when the supply can no longer replenish the market, followed by a final scoring round. The mechanics blend hand management, open drafting, pattern building, set collection and tile placement, all wrapped in a medieval Spanish theme that appeals to both newcomers and veterans. With a 60‑minute playtime, 2‑6 players, and a light weight (2.75/5), it offers accessible yet strategic sessions. If you love city‑building games and want everything in one box, this Big Box is essentially an Alhambra festival.
