About the game
What you do in a play session
A galaxy at peace after a cosmic war? Sounds like a dream, right? But in Among the Stars, that's just the beginning! An intergalactic Alliance has decided to put a truce on fighting and focus on building awesome space stations. The goal? To foster trade, strengthen diplomatic ties, and, of course, defend against a threat that could wipe everyone out. Each player takes command of an alien race, competing to erect the most impressive space station.
The game unfolds over four 'years' (game years, that is!). Each year, you'll participate in a drafting phase – sometimes closed, sometimes open – to pick the best location and module cards for your station. Placing these pieces is crucial, as that's where victory points come into play. Think carefully about where to fit each sector, because synergy between them can be the key to your victory. And don't forget that each race has its own tricks and special abilities, so use them to your advantage!
With a mix of simultaneous action selection and strategic tile placement, Among the Stars offers a fast-paced and engaging experience. It's a game that demands planning but rewards those who know how to adapt and seize opportunities. Perfect for sci-fi fans who want to build something grand in outer space.
