Your mission is to follow the hero's saga: from the brutal clash with the monster Grendel, through Beowulf's rise to the throne, to the final showdown against a terrifying dragon.

The heart of this game lies in the auctions. Yes, the master Reiner Knizia has brought his signature bidding expertise to the table. In each round, events from the legend are put up for auction, and you must decide how much you're willing to invest. You can use cards representing your skills—like strength or cunning—to secure amazing rewards, victory points, or powerful cards. But watch out: it's not all glory. If you miss the mark, you might end up with injuries or penalties that hinder your path to kingship.

Feeling bold? You can push your luck! There's a mechanic that lets you try to draw two cards at once to boost your bid.
