About the game
Grab your master builder hat, because King Ludwig has officially lost it and now demands castles! But these aren't just any castles; he wants something grand, and since he's a demanding client, you won't be able to pull it off alone. In Between Two Castles of Mad King Ludwig, you enter a very unique partnership dynamic: you'll be building two different castles at the same time. The twist? You work with the player to your left to build one castle and with the player to your right for the other. It's a constant juggling act of attention!

Each round, you select two room tiles from your hand and reveal them. The challenge? You must decide where each tile fits best to help your building partner, without forgetting that you have your own goals to meet. The scoring mechanic is what really makes your brain tick (in a good way!): to win, you don't just want the most impressive castle. In fact, your final score will be based on the castle that had the LOWEST score between the two you helped build. In other words, you need to be good at building, but you also need to know when to stop adding things so you don't overshoot your project's score!

The game is a feast of color and art, featuring tiles that represent highly detailed castle rooms. With an open drafting system and simultaneous actions, the pace is frantic, and nobody is left sitting around waiting for someone else to think for half an hour. It's a light-to-medium strategy game, perfect for those who love visual puzzles and that social interaction of 'I'll help you now so you can help me later.' If you enjoy games where your moves directly impact those sitting next to you, this is the one for you!
