About the game
What you do in a play session
Get ready for a frantic race in Camelot, where you and your friends become Arthurian knights in a heated contest for the legendary Excalibur! Each player commands an army of five Arthurs and other iconic characters, all rushing to grab the sword and bring it back to their starting point. At first glance, it looks like a simple wargame, with combat resolved on the spot, no tedious dice involved.
The trick is that two players act at the same time, thanks to the turn tokens that circulate around the board. Finished your turn? Pass the token to the next player! If someone is taking too long, the other token keeps moving, keeping the action at full speed. This forces everyone to think fast, with turns lasting about 5 seconds – it's almost like a video game due to its intensity! In about 20 to 30 minutes, even with 3 to 6 players, the contest is over.
And don't worry about being eliminated: your Arthurs always return to the fray. Each character type has its own tricks, but everyone starts equally. Want variety? There are alternative modes to pursue the "Accoutrements of Kingship" or gather gold to "buy the kingship." Camelot is pure adrenaline and quick decisions; if you enjoy slow, deeply strategic games, it might not be your cup of tea, but for those who love real-time action, it's pure fun!
