About the game

What you do in a play session

Picture stepping into that forest where sunlight barely filters through the giant tree canopies. In Canopy: Evergreen, you'll build your own ecosystem in the Pacific temperate rainforest, complete with trees that physically grow (the 3D tokens are a showstopper!), clever animals, and point-scoring plants. The game uses a card selection system where you decide whether to take a stack now or wait for potentially better options — but watch out, because cute critters come mixed with wildfires and pests that can wreck your strategy. Each round, your trees gain growth rings (yep, they literally get taller on your board!) and animals interact in unexpected ways. After three seasons, the player with the most balanced and thriving forest wins. Pro tip: don't underestimate the salmon, they're worth their weight in gold here!

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers before you buy

6 questions
Does it play well at 2 players?
Absolutely! The dynamic changes (less competition for cards), but the rules adapt perfectly for strategic duels.
Do I need the original Canopy game?
Nope! Evergreen is standalone, with new mechanics like 3D trees and animal feeding systems.
How long does a game take?
45-60 minutes once everyone learns. First games might take up to 90 minutes with explanations.
Worth it if I own the first Canopy?
100%! The new mechanics add different depth, and upgraded components are worth the price alone.
Too complex for kids?
Works fine from age 10+. For younger players, you can simplify some scoring rules.
Language dependent?
Yes, cards have important text. Some stores sell translation sheets or you can improvise a cheat sheet.
