In the prosperous Kingdom of Greengully, ruled by the Forever King, a new era begins with a royal decree: colonize the vast lands beyond the borders! Six citizens, each with unique skills, have been chosen for the noble task of founding a new village. And this is where you step into Charterstone, a competitive legacy game where in each session you build and populate a village that all players share.
The big twist is that the buildings you construct are stickers that are permanently affixed to the game board, transforming into action spaces that any player can use. This means you start with limited options and a few workers, but quickly your village evolves into a bustling place, full of dozens of possible actions. Charterstone's campaign unfolds over twelve games, each revealing new advancements, rules, cards, or components, creating a unique story for each copy of the game. And the best part? At the end of the campaign, your completed village becomes a fully functional and unique worker-placement game, with plenty of variability to be played indefinitely!

How many players can participate in a Charterstone campaign?
Charterstone is super flexible! It can be played by 1 to 6 players, which is great for different friend groups or even a solo experience.
What is the average duration of a Charterstone game session?
Each individual game session lasts between 45 and 75 minutes. But remember, it's a campaign game, so you'll play 12 sessions to complete the story!
Is Charterstone a complex game for beginners?
It has a medium complexity rating (2.86/5 on BGG). It starts simple, but rules and options expand throughout the campaign, making the experience richer, but also more challenging.
What happens to the game after the 12-game campaign ends?
The best part is that your finished village becomes a totally unique and functional worker-placement game, with high variability, for you to play as many times as you want!
Can I play Charterstone again after finishing the campaign?
Yes, the campaign is unique, but the finished game can be played indefinitely. If you want to relive the campaign, you would need a new copy or the 'Recharge Pack'.
Do I need a lot of table space to play Charterstone?
Since you'll be building a village with stickers and adding components, it's good to have a decent amount of space. The board will grow, and you'll have cards and resources to manage.
Is the game language-dependent?
Yes, there's a fair amount of text on cards and in the rulebook. It's recommended to have a good grasp of English or use translated materials to fully enjoy the narrative and rules.
