Get ready for an adventure in the skies with Cloud 9! In this 1999 game, you and your friends board a hot air balloon with one goal: to accumulate as many points as possible as you ascend through the clouds. Each player starts with six cards, and each round, a different 'pilot' rolls dice that determine how many specific colored cards are needed to keep the balloon rising. The big question is: do you trust the pilot to succeed? Or is it better to jump out of the balloon and secure the points you've already earned before it's too late? If you stay, you might gain much more, but the risk of scoring nothing is real. If the balloon falls, it returns to the lowest cloud, and everyone boards for another attempt. The first to reach 50 points claims the glory! Cloud 9 is a fast-paced game, ideal for 3 to 6 players, with games lasting about 20 to 30 minutes. It blends the tension of 'push your luck' with the cunning of bluffing and betting, all wrapped in a light and fun aviation theme. It's a great choice for those who enjoy low-complexity games (weight 1.15/5) but still offer moments of pure adrenaline and important decisions. The cards and dice create an interesting dynamic of hand management and risk, making each ascent a new gamble. Perfect for warming up a game night or for a relaxed session among friends who enjoy a bit of excitement without complication.

How long does a game of Cloud 9 typically last?
A game of Cloud 9 is super quick, usually lasting between 20 and 30 minutes. It's perfect for fitting into any game night or for playing multiple rounds in a row.
How many people can play Cloud 9?
It's designed for larger groups, working well with 3 to 6 players. The more people, the crazier and more fun it gets!

There's definitely an element of luck with the dice rolls and cards! But the fun lies precisely in 'pushing your luck' and deciding when to bail out. There's a bit of bluffing and strategy mixed in.

Cloud 9 leans more towards fun and momentary tension. Don't expect deep strategic complexity, but rather lots of laughs and 'oh my gosh!' moments each round.
