About the game
What you do in a play session
Get ready for an amped-up Coup! This Deluxe version packs the Inquisitor and Factions expansions, with artwork inspired by the mobile app, making it feel super sleek. The power struggle here is fierce, and we play with 2 to 6 players, so the showdown is more focused. The goal? Be the last one standing with the most influence. To achieve this, you'll wield character cards, each with a wicked power: the Duke steals coins, the Assassin eliminates others, the Captain snatches your coins back, the Countess shields you from attacks, and the Ambassador swaps your cards. The catch is, you only have two cards in hand, and you can lie about who you are! But beware, if someone catches you bluffing, you lose a life. Lose both lives, and you're out. It's a game of bluffing, deduction, and pure audacity. You need to guess who has what, who's lying, and when to strike. Each round, you declare an action of a character (it could be yours or not), and others can challenge you. If you prove you told the truth, the challenger loses a life. If you lied, you lose. Simple as that, but the fun is guaranteed. Perfect for those who enjoy a quick game, packed with interaction and that thrilling tension of not knowing who to trust.

Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers before you buy
How many people can play Coup Deluxe?
Coup Deluxe is for 2 to 6 players. The base Coup game supports more, but this edition focuses on a slightly smaller group to maintain intensity.
How long does a game take?
Games are super fast, usually around 15 minutes. You can play several rounds in a row without getting tired!
What do the Inquisitor and Factions expansions add?
These expansions introduce new cards and abilities, like the Inquisitor who can view someone's cards, and Factions that add more complexity and strategic options.
Is it a difficult game to learn?
No, the basic rules are quite straightforward. The challenge lies in mastering the bluffing, reading opponents, and strategic use of abilities.
Can I lie about which card I have?
Yes! Lying is the heart of Coup. You can claim to be any character, but if you're challenged and caught lying, you lose an influence (life).
What happens if I lose both my influences?
If you lose both your influences (cards), you are eliminated from the game. The last player with influence survives and wins!
Is it worth it for someone who already owns the basic Coup?
If you enjoy the basic Coup and want more variety and the new artwork, yes! The expansions add interesting layers without overcomplicating things.
