About the game

What you do in a play session

If you already enjoy the strategic chaos of Dark Horse, the Outlaw expansion is here to spice up your table. You know that moment when you need to break out of jail? Well, now there is an official and thematic way to do it in style. This mini-expansion introduces the special "Outlaw" role, which comes into play precisely when a player attempts to escape via a die roll. Once you claim this role, you gain a devious ability: using the result of a black die to bump your opponents off actions they had already secured. It is the kind of move that makes everyone at the table jump out of their seats!

But don't think an outlaw's life is all easy. The Sheriff at the table also gains a new trick up their sleeve: they can use a silver die to capture the player holding the Outlaw role. If that happens, the outlaw loses their status and is forced to spend the rest of the turn rotting in jail. It is a constant game of cat and mouse that adds an extra layer of tension and direct player interaction. Beyond being a fun addition to the base game, this expansion acts as a teaser, giving a taste of what would come in larger, full-box expansions. Since it had a very limited print run for Kickstarter backers, it is an item that Dark Horse collectors often hunt for. If you enjoy variable player powers and don't mind a bit of "take that" (that mean interaction we all love), Outlaw is the missing ingredient for your next Wild West session.
