About the game
What you do in a play session
Set sail for Catan Junior, the pirate-themed and more accessible version of the classic settlement game! Instead of founding villages, you'll be building pirate warehouses on tropical islands and navigating the seas in search of treasures and resources. The goal is to be the first to erect seven warehouses, but the journey is full of twists! Each round, a die is rolled, and anyone with a warehouse on the corresponding island receives equipment cards, such as wood, rum, gold, and sabers. With these items, you can build more warehouses, expand your fleet of ships, or even buy special cards that give you an advantage. But beware! The dreaded Ghost Pirate can appear to block an island's production, adding a touch of suspense to your adventure. Unlike the original Catan, there are no cities to upgrade here, and the distance rule between settlements has been removed, making the game more dynamic. Rolling a single die simplifies resource acquisition, and the new marketplace allows for more direct trading with the bank. It's a great introduction to the Catan universe, perfect for families and those who want a lighter, faster, yet engaging experience, with plenty of dice rolling, hand management, and a touch of negotiation for those brave enough to trade resources.
