About the game
Enemy Anemone is a card game that dives into the world of trick-taking, but with a unique twist. Each player chooses a suit, and the goal is to rack up points, but watch out for those anemones! The game kicks off with ten cards dealt to each player, and nine anemone cards are set aside. On your turn, you play a card, and other players, in clockwise order, must play a card from a suit not yet played in the trick. If you can't, the card goes to your discard pile. The highest card wins the trick and all the cards played, but the lowest card has a different fate: it snags an anemone card! These anemones are super useful, as they can be used to boost the value of one of your cards in future tricks. Ties are broken by the order of play. At the end of each hand, you score for the cards collected, with bonuses for the 3s, 5s, and 8s of each suit. Whoever has the lowest score gains an extra anemone, and the player with the most points at the end of the round starts the next one. Play four rounds, and the player with the highest overall score wins! In case of a tie, the number of anemones decides the champion.

With rules reminiscent of classic trick-taking games, but adding the strategic layer of anemones, Enemy Anemone offers a quick and accessible experience. The marine theme, though subtle, adds an extra charm to the game, making it a fun option for those who enjoy card games with a bit of a twist. Interaction happens through the competition for cards and the management of anemones, creating an interesting balance between gain and risk. It's a game that can appeal to both trick-taking veterans and those just starting to explore this genre.
