About the game
Get ready for a tense solo mission in World War II with Fortitude! In this card game, you play as an Allied agent trying to deceive German intelligence to ensure the success of D-Day. The gameplay revolves around 16 rounds, divided into two main phases: Calais and Trondheim, where you need to win tricks to advance. Each phase has four trick-taking rounds, followed by a decisive ninth round in Normandy, where the objective is precisely to lose the trick. If you play well, you might even unlock upgrades to boost your future cards. But beware! Setback cards can appear at any moment, turning a winning game into a disaster. The big dilemma is that winning in Normandy attracts enemy attention. For each victory there, you must fill in a specific area on a notepad, as if you were misleading the enemy. Fail to complete this task? Game over! Fortitude is a clever mix of trick-taking and flip-and-write that tests your bluffing and planning skills under pressure. Can you maintain the facade long enough for history to proceed as planned?
