Gataria is a board game that blends feline humor, movement strategy, and capture competition. Each player controls a magical cat that must climb the rooftops of a village around a central tower. The goal is simple yet dual: reach the tower first or be the first to capture three opponent cats. The board is modular, made of pieces that fit together uniquely each game, creating a constantly changing setting. Players place movement tiles in ascending order, leaping from roof to roof of matching colors or numbers, while they may use magical portals to cross the board. If a cat encounters another, it can capture it or flee by offering a treat. Petunia, the apprentice witch, distributes treats that can be traded for attack, defense, or trick cards, as well as keys to the tower. At the end of each round, a cat controls Nyx, the old cat, who destroys rooftops and opens new portals, altering the game dynamics. Gataria combines a fast pace, tactical decisions, and a touch of feline comedy that keeps players on their toes. If you enjoy grid‑movement games, humor, and capture competition, this game will make you purr with delight. Its simple design and accessible rules make it perfect for groups looking for a fun, concise play without losing strategic depth.
