About the game

What you do in a play session

Get ready for a fast-paced and addictive challenge with Genius Square, a puzzle game that will test your mental agility! Winner of the HPC Game Of The Year 2018/19 award, this title lives up to its name, promising an experience as clever as it is fun. The dynamic is simple, but the execution is a treat for anyone who loves a good spatial reasoning challenge. Each player receives their own 6x6 grid and a set of nine different polyomino shapes, plus seven special 'blocker' pieces. To start the round, seven dice are rolled simultaneously. The coordinates that appear on the dice faces indicate where the blockers must be placed on each grid. And that's where the race begins! The goal is to be the first to fill all the empty spaces on your board using the nine available shapes, before your opponent can do the same. Sounds easy? Not always! The most impressive thing is that, however complex it may seem, each of the 62,208 possible dice combinations has at least one solution — and often, several! You'll find yourself solving some puzzles in seconds, while others will have you 'pulling your hair out' from thinking so hard. It's a brilliant game for exercising the mind and competing in real-time!
