About the game

What you do in a play session

If you think memory games are just for toddlers, Gigamons will make you rethink that pretty quickly! Here, you're an aspiring wizard trying to join the Elemage guild. The goal? Summon the powerful Gigamons, elemental creatures that only show up when you master the art of finding the right pairs of Elemons on the board.

The game plays out on a 3x3 grid of face-down tiles. On your turn, you flip two tiles. No match? Too bad. But if you find a pair, you trigger that Elemon's special power. And this is where it gets fun: every Elemon has a unique ability. There's the Polymon, which acts as a wild; the Aeromon, which lets you swap tiles with your friends; the Pyromon, which deletes tiles from the game; and even the Geomon, which blocks spaces. It's a mix of memory with a dash of 'take that' that turns a simple mechanic into a strategic, twist-filled contest.

When you collect a trio of identical Elemons, you earn the corresponding Gigamon. But watch out: if an opponent already has the Gigamon you just captured, they might be able to steal it! The game ends when someone summons three Gigamons or the deck runs out. It's fast, frantic, and requires you to pay attention not just to where the tiles are, but to what the other players are doing so you don't lose your favorite elemental monster.

With a super charismatic visual and rules you can explain in two minutes, Gigamons is the perfect filler to warm up the table or play with the family. Don't be fooled by the simplicity: the interaction between the Elemons' powers creates moments of pure tension and laughter. If you're looking for a game that's easy to learn but has plenty of personality and a healthy dose of player interaction, this monster hunt is the right choice. Ready your wand, train your memory, and good luck with your summoning!
