About the game
What you do in a play session
Guerra Lampo: WWII in 20 minuti is a bite‑sized wargame that squeezes World War II into roughly twenty‑minute matches, ideal for anyone craving a fast tactical showdown. Two players face off – one as the Axis, the other as the Allies – on a board featuring five distinct battlefronts. Each side loads a bag with land, sea and air army tokens, then draws three hidden tokens to start, with the Axis player taking the first turn. On every turn a player places a token onto an empty space on a battle track, aiming to hold the majority on that front. Capturing a base awards points and may trigger a variety of bonuses: extra points on other fronts, victory points, a random special token, an extra draw, or the removal of an opponent's token from their reserve. The game ends when a player has no playable tokens left, when one side wins a single front outright, or when a player reaches 25 points. The mechanics blend area majority/influence, deck‑bag‑pool building, race and tile placement, delivering simple yet meaningful strategic choices. Components are lightweight – colored tokens, small bags, and a board divided into tracks – making set‑up quick and transport easy. Though the playtime is short, the tension of allocating forces and exploiting bonuses captures the feel of a larger war, making it perfect for quick sessions between friends or as a warm‑up before heavier titles. The learning curve is gentle, yet the need to plan each move keeps seasoned gamers engaged.
