H8ter: Base Game is a dice game that pits 2‑4 players in a frantic race to complete eight levels, each represented by a level card. At the start, each player receives a set of 8 colored dice – four colors are included in the base set – and the level card that indicates the goal for that round. The game begins with one player announcing the start of the round; everyone rolls their dice simultaneously. Players can re‑roll any number of dice, but they can lock any die that already shows the desired result, preventing it from changing. When someone feels they have the complete set of results required by the card, they shout “Done!” and everyone stops rolling. If the player truly completed the level, they move on to the next level in the next round; otherwise, they try again next round. The game ends when someone reaches the 8th level; if there’s a tie, the first to shout “Done!” wins. The component set is lean: 4 level cards, 1 rule card, and 32 dice (8 of each of the four colors). The mechanics combine dice rolling, re‑rolling and locking, racing, and set collection, creating a fast pace full of quick decisions and friendly competition. It’s perfect for those who enjoy simple yet strategic dice games that fit into a 15‑30 minute window.
