About the game
What you do in a play session
In Hot Lead, you step into the shoes of an undercover investigator aiming to dismantle five criminal organizations. The game spans ten rounds, and in each one, criminal cards are revealed, with their quantity depending on the number of players. To acquire these cards and gather evidence, you and the other players simultaneously place bids using investigator cards from your hands. The highest bid wins the criminal card closest to the deck, the second highest bid takes the second closest, and so on. Each criminal card is worth points equal to its face value (0-5). The goal is to collect sets of cards to convict the criminals. Obtaining exactly three cards of the same suit rewards you with 10 bonus points, and having cards from all five suits also grants an additional 10 points. But beware! If you get too "aggressive" and pick up the fourth card of a specific suit, the criminals will catch on and disappear, and you'll lose all cards of that suit. At the end of the ten rounds, the player with the most points wins the investigation. It's a quick game featuring sealed bid auctions, hand management, and set collection mechanics, ideal for those who enjoy tense competition and fast-paced decisions.
