About the game

What you do in a play session

Hey folks! Let's talk about Huang Dih: The Great Emperor. This is a super straightforward card game for 3 to 5 players where you step into the shoes of a subject trying to please the emperor by building walls. The setup is simple: you have cards in your hand and a stock pile, and the goal is to use them all to build sequences from 1 to 10 (or 10 to 1, depending on the twist!).

Each player has their own pile of 10 stock cards and 5 in hand. To build the walls in the center of the table, you can use cards from your hand as well as the top card of your stock. The trick is that hand cards are replenished each round, so you can plan your moves. The main challenge is to be the first to use all the cards from your stock, but watch out: the game has some surprises, like the reverse card, which can turn the game upside down and change the building sequence. It's a fast-paced game with easy-to-grasp rules, but it requires good hand management and a sharp eye to anticipate opponents' moves. Perfect for those who want something light to play with family or friends without complications, yet still offers a dash of strategy and fun.
