Inferno puts you in Dante’s shoes, the poet who traverses the nine circles of the underworld in search of Beatrice. Instead of just moving forward, you must place each soul in the correct punishment while managing the political intrigue of 14th‑century Florence. The central board is split into two halves: the Inferno side shows the circles and the soul registry; the other side depicts Florence, where you can deploy workers to build towers, recruit figures, or even detain criminals. Each turn has two phases: in the Inferno Phase you move a soul across the grid, trying to land it in the right circle and earn Infamy Points; in the Florence Phase you choose whether to invest in city actions or expose a sinner, who will then be executed and their soul sent to Hell. The game ends when Dante reaches the gate to Purgatory, and the winner is the one who has amassed the most infamy points—adding a cheeky moral twist to the strategy. With mechanics like Market, Loans, Multi‑Use Cards, and Worker Placement, Inferno delivers a flow that blends long‑term planning with quick resource decisions. The theme mixes horror, fantasy, and mythology, and the component design is solid, with high‑quality pieces that add an elegant touch to the experience. If you love deep strategic games with a literary‑terror twist, Inferno will keep you on the edge of chaos.
