About the game
What you do in a play session
Kompromat pits two rival spies against each other in a duel of secret missions, using cards as if they were blackjack hands. In each round players decide how many cards to reveal, aiming to get as close to 21 as possible without busting. If you outscore your opponent without going over, you win the mission and may claim a special ability that can shift the game later. Beware, however: exceeding 21 earns notoriety tokens, and too much fame can backfire, potentially causing you to lose your cover. The game runs for six rounds unless a spy’s disguise is blown early, ending the match prematurely. While the cards are straightforward, the blend of Push Your Luck and Set Collection creates constant tension – you must gauge how far to risk while trying to assemble ability sets that grant future bonuses. Each successful mission yields points, and collected abilities help dodge notoriety or improve your hands. At roughly 30 minutes, the pace is quick, perfect for players who want a tight duel without lengthy setup. The artwork evokes a Cold War vibe, with icons of dossiers, weapons and listening devices, reinforcing a retro espionage theme. If you enjoy short card games, risk‑taking decisions, and the feel of 60s spy movies, Kompromat offers a well‑balanced, twist‑filled experience. The match ends after six turns or when a player loses their cover, and the winner is the one with the most mission points while keeping notoriety in check.
